Backing Young Britain

Last year, St. Anne’s Community Services were successful in obtaining a contract to offer thirty Future Job Fund placements for six months within the Kirklees area.

This was a scheme introduced by the Labour Government’ as part of their ‘Backing Young Britain’ campaign to help young people into employment.

Many of our managers found the scheme to be beneficial and described it as a positive experience for both the trainees and the organisation. All of our trainees were thankful for the opportunity and felt the experience, confidence and skills they had gained during their placement had helped to increase their employment prospects.

This has been proven with three of the trainees being successful in securing a permanent post with St. Anne’s whilst several others have joined our Casual list. Two further trainees have been successful in securing employment with other care organisations.

Thank you to those who were involved in supporting and mentoring trainees.
