Creykes Lodge Top Team Award
Creykes Lodge our specialist service for People with Learning Disabilities in Goole was recently nominated and successfully recognised by St Anne's Community services as a Top Team!
They were nominated by their Area Manager Mark Fennelly for:
- Having the lowest staff absence in the Leeds and Goole services for People with Learning Disabilities.
- Introducing Patient Group Directives with the community nurse prescriber to allow homely remedies to be given safely.
- Introducing and installing a new sensory room
- Supporting a very complex new Client into the service so that the behaviours he exhibited on admission have reduced by a complex strategy of Physical Interventions, team working and working with the community team.
- Working with the local Pathology department to introduce a system of best interest meetings to ensure Bloods were taken safely to ensure proper investigations of client health. Worked with the General Practice as well to ensure pathology results are shared with the nursing team to track trends within therapeutic ranges.
- Introducing a structure / core competencies for the Primary care supervisors (nurses) at Creykes Lodge to promote and ensure complex health and behavioural needs are met within the team structure complementing the community team input and being recognised locally for this.
The award was presented by Karen Newsome Director for the Leeds and Wakefield Services to the Manager and staff team.
The Manger Andrea Sanderson (pictured left receiving the award) said,” It’s very
rewarding and gives a great sense of achievement to be recognised for our good practice and working as a team in the best interest of the people who live at Creykes Lodge. There is a real team spirit at Creykes Lodge and I am accepting this award on behalf of all the contributions of all the staff at Creykes Lodge in recognition for their hard work”.
