St Anne’s Board

St Anne’s Board (Council of Management) is responsible for governance of the organisation. Members of the Board are St Anne’s Directors for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006 and United Kingdom Accounting Standards Trustees.

There are currently 9 members of the Board; the organisation’s rules (Memorandum and Articles of Association) state that the number of members of the Board shall not be less than six or more than 15. Ian McIntosh is Chair of the Board and Terry Moran is the vice-chair. The office of chair is held for three consecutive years.

The Board has delegated specific responsibilities to a number of committees. Each committee reports to the Board and has detailed terms of reference which are reviewed annually.  The committees meeting regularly throughout the year, in accordance with their terms of reference.

  • Finance and Performance

Ian McIntosh (Chair)

Retired Solicitor

Ian is chair of St Anne’s and a member of the Audit Committee.  Ian was previously a partner in a large law firm for over 20 years, specialising in corporate transactions, advising businesses of all kinds on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and fundraisings.   Ian is now a careers coach, having obtained an MSc. in Career Coaching, and is also involved in a range of voluntary community activities.

Former St Anne’s Client

Steven is a former client of St Anne’s and became a board member to help people who have wide varsity of problem’s’ and vulnerability’s. Steven finds it challenging and rewarding. Steven always leaves the board meetings feeling proud of himself knowing he has treated others as he would treat others with respect.

Philip Brown

Solicitor, Pension Trust Director

Having volunteered with St Anne’s in its earliest days, Philip rejoined the organisation as trustee director in 2013. During his career as a solicitor, he has specialised in property, construction, funding and pensions.  Philip lives near York and continues to work in property, as a professional pension fund director and managing examinations at the University of York.  His feels is that the experience and skills that he has acquired over the years can be put to use for the benefit of St Anne’s and its clients.

We are particularly looking for people with skills, knowledge and experience in the fields of law (housing, social care) and of health and social care – but the most important criteria is a commitment to the organisation and it’s values.
