Staff development

St. Anne's own in-house Learning and Development Team offers learning and development opportunities to both St. Anne's staff and to members of the St. Anne's Training Partnership. We offer a comprehensive range of mandatory and optional courses relevant to the care sector, in addition to management and personal development courses. NVQ courses are available at Level 2, 3 and 4, and NVQ assessor and internal verifier awards.

All new staff undergo a formal Induction Programme which ensures they have the necessary knowledge to be effective workers. Staff in Learning Disabilities services undergo the Learning Disabilities Induction Award (LDIA) and all other staff work through the Skills for Care Common Induction standards. We also offer the Mental Health Certificate at Level 2 and have an extensive training programme which staff can access.

In addition to the in-house courses, we provide support to staff undertaking external qualifications relevant to their job and career and can organise shadowing, job swaps and transfers where requested.

All staff have an annual appraisal with their manager, where development needs for the future are identified. These will vary depending on experience and job requirements.
