Our longest
running service is the Resource Centre (
more information on the Resource Centre) based in the centre of Leeds.
Operating an open-door, drop-in policy from 8.40 a.m. to 4.40 p.m. Sunday to
Friday the centre offers:
. Assistance with housing and benefits
. A secure postal address
. Meals
. Toilets, laundry and showers
. Open Learning Centre
. Advice and guidance on drug and alcohol issues
. Access to primary health care
Information and practical support is available from the Resource Centre's
trained staff. Service users may be guided to contact other agencies (
SARC information pdf) if this is appropriate.
Single homeless men who require immediate assistance with accommodation can
access one of our two hostels - Holdforth Court (
Holdforth pdf) in Leeds can accommodate 36 men and Bevin Court in
Sheffield can accommodate 54 men. Both services undertake a needs assessment
with service users and seek to find appropriate accommodation and longer term
move on accommodation. Bevin Court has 12 move-on flats and is able to provide
ongoing support for 12 men once they have moved on in to their own
accommodation in the community. Also in Sheffield the Homeless Action Programme
Outreach Team work with people who are street homeless to help them re-settle
and provides ongoing support to enable them to settle and sustain their new
tenancy.
