Learning disability services in North Yorkshire

St. Anne's has a range of services for people with learning disabilities in the North Yorkshire area.

North Yorkshire Learning Disability Service

The North Yorkshire learning disability service consists of registered residential care homes in :

  • Knaresborough
  • Green Hammerton, Near York
  • Boroughbridge
  • Harrogate
  • Ripon
  • Settle
  • Ingleton
  • High Bentham

St. Anne's also runs a supported living group home in Ripon.

The North Yorkshire ‘Making It Happen’ group continues to provide a very effective method for client involvement in North Yorkshire. The Making it Happen Group meets on a regular basis and enables clients to voice issues of concern to them, discuss ways in which the service could be improved, and generally have a good time. The Group meets in the North Yorkshire area, but is open to all St. Anne’s clients.

The residential care home service is currently under review as part of a reprovision programme being led by the service commissioner. The process involves an assessment of clients needs to identify the most suitable package of care for each individual. Where necessary, care home packages of care are being replaced by the supported living model.

York Supported Living Service

A staff team is providing some 400 hours per week support to people living in their own tenancies in York.
