This year Wakefield Mental Health Services decided to celebrate Dignity Action Day by inviting Wakefield Hospice to talk about their work to clients in a clients meeting, and then staff and clients decided to hold a sponsored walk to raise funds for the hospice, leading to a walk around a local beauty spot Newmiller Dam in Wakefield on 17th February, followed by a meal at the “Dam Inn” the adjoining restaurant.
Now comes the hard part over the next couple of weeks, - getting the cash in from sponsors, before clients take the money raised to present to the Hospice. Provisional estimates indicate over £400.00 has been pledged, - and we are all grateful for our generous sponsors.
We have tried to specify to the Hospice that we would like our donations to help raise dignity awareness for patients.
A big thank you to David our client resident photographer for taking so many photographs.
