St Anne’s Community Services would like to announce that Oxfield Court Nursing service in Huddersfield and Nicky Lyall from the Learning and Development department is the Winner of the 2015 Linda McEnhill Award.

Also many congratulations also to Gerard Wainwright from Heatherstones Nursing Service in Halifax and Marnie Walker from 8 Oxfield Court in Huddersfield, together with their teams, for being awarded Highly Commended for their outstanding end of life support for an individual.

The judges felt that there were a lot of outstanding and innovative aspects in the work done by St Anne’s around end of life care: to have EoL training turned into a requirement for contracted services; to use GSF accreditation; to adapt GSF (POLE); to achieve the level of CCG support and funding that you have achieved; to include families and carers in the development of training resources; the DVD. The list goes on. This is outstanding partnership work with practical tools, leading to evidently improved EoL care. We feel that your work needs to gain national recognition and be published and shared widely.

Evidence of this outstanding work is the excellent care provided to clients at 8 Oxfield Court and Heatherstones. Both stories were inspirational and demonstrate what can be achieved with good support, good systems and good people. We therefore decided to give both homes a “Highly Commended” award.

All these awards were announced and presented at the PCPLD Network annual conference in London on 16th November 2015

The winners were presented with a certificate and the annual trophy and The “Highly Commended” winners received a certificate.
