International Nurses Day 2017

International Nurses Day is celebrated around the world every May 12; it’s a day to celebrate and recognise the contributions Nurses make 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. May 12 is the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth and is used to celebrate the contributions nurses make to society.

St. Anne’s Community Services currently have 103 Registered Nurses working across our services, including at Heatherstones. Heatherstones have received ‘outstanding’ in care by the CQC, which reflects the fantastic efforts of our staff. Heatherstones were also nominated for a Nursing Times Award last year – knowing our staff and services are being recognised for their work fills us with pride.

St. Anne’s end of life care programme ‘Doing it my Way’ has been celebrated at numerous awards ceremonies. It was recently commended at the RCNi Awards, and won the Linda McEnhill Award in 2015. Nursing service Oxfield Court, and Learning and Development’s Nicky Lyall, have shown evidence of outstanding work and excellent care provided to clients.

These are just two examples from a few of our services which show how our Nurses make a difference to our clients lives and provide high standards of care. We have nursing services across our organisation and we would like to take today as an opportunity to publicly thank our staff (Nurses in particular) for their dedication to their roles.
