St Anne’s Staff Conference & Celebration of Achievements 2017

Over 250 of St Anne's managers and staff gathered together at Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Leeds on Wednesday 18 October 2017 to celebrate last years achievements

John Baczkowski – Director of Corporate Affairs

John Baczkowski, Director of Corporate Affairs opened the Staff Conference by explaining the purpose of this event.

The event is to provide the opportunity for people who work across Yorkshire and the North East to get together to share each other’s company, get to know what everyone else is doing and to celebrate a huge number of individual successes and achievements over the past year or so.

There was chance through the day to have a chat with colleagues and check out the 15 market stalls ranging from St Anne’s services and also including stalls from Unison, Simply Health, Train Ltd and Health Assured.

With a packed out agenda for the day, John introduced Terry Moran, Chair of St Anne’s Board. Terry has been a St Anne’s Board member since 2006 and has been the Chair of the Board for the last 2 years – Please see video below.

Derek Bray our Chief Executive was next to speak at the Staff Conference – please see video below.

Our first guest speaker – Sally Gretton

I’m sure most of us know about the vital work of Skills for Care. They help create a better-led, more skilled and valued adult social care workforce and provide the practical tools and support to help social care organisations like St Anne’s to recruit and develop our people.

Sally Gretton from Skills for Care. Sally is the Head of Area for Yorkshire and Humber and the North East and a Lead in Workforce Integration. Sally spoke at the Staff Conference about the synergy between Skills for Care and St Anne’s – please see video.

Our second guest speaker – Richard McCann

We were very fortunate to have Richard as our second guest speaker. In fact Richard attended our Celebration of Achievements event three years ago and the feedback was so fantastic then that we simply had to have him back for a return visit. If you Google Richard McCann’s name, it appears at the very top of this list. He is a renowned inspirational speaker who has delivered presentations around the world and thank you so much Richard for your marvellous talk.

Richard McCann

The next section of our event was an absolute privilege to introduce. This is perhaps the most important part of the day. It is the part where we recognise and celebrate the achievements of many of our colleagues.

Every one here has done a terrific job throughout the year and thanks go out to all for that.

The presentations took place for awards showing our appreciation to those people who have gone that extra mile.

Awards given out were:
