Service Description

FREE non-accredited courses in Literacy, English as a Second Language (ESOL), Basic Computer Skills, Employment Skills for ESOL, Listening and Pronunciation, Computer Skills for ESOL.

Most courses run for 8 weeks, 2.5 hours a week. Two weeks are spent out in the community looking at possible progression routes or course related learning opportunities.

In December, April and July we also run 1 week intensive courses in ESOL.

Aims and Objectives of the Service

To give people the skills and confidence to engage in more formal learning opportunities in the future.

Who should be referred to this service?

We work with a cross-section of people, for example, people with mild mental health issues, homeless, people in recovery and refugees. We have access for disabled people.

Who can refer?

People can self refer or be referred by key workers/organisations.

We have built up good links with external organisations such as Swarthmore,  Touchstone, Saint Vincents and JCP to facilitate progression routes.
