Lees Hall Road – Dewsbury

Lees Hall Road is a purpose built unit in the Thornhill Lees area of Dewsbury providing a service for 7 clients who are experiencing or living with mental ill health.

Service Description

The unit has 5 fully furnished bedrooms and 2 fully furnished self-contained resettlement flats. Clients have access to a TV lounge with a dining area, a large kitchen, a laundry and spacious garden/patio area. The unit also boasts an onsite gym and a well-equipped activity room. The unit is situated approximately 1.5 miles from Dewsbury Town Centre and is well served by frequent buses to the bus station and provides easy access to other towns such as Huddersfield, Batley, Bradford, Wakefield and Leeds.

Lees Hall Road offers 24 hours a day support with specialist support workers available throughout the day and night.

Aims and Objectivities of Service

The aims of the service are to provide an intensive rehabilitation programme to clients leaving low secure, acute ward or highly structured environments. We may be able to offer a service to clients who are living in the community where a period of rehabilitation may be useful to prevent a hospital admission.

We aim to gradually build on a person’s strengths, self esteem, confidence and to help you develop your skills in the hope that you may live independently.

Staff are trained in helping clients to set and achieve goals using the Outcome Star model to build an individual support plan that meets clients needs/wishes and puts the client at the centre of and fully involved in the planning of their support.

Potential clients must fully agree to complying with the requirements of the services as they will be expected to fully engage with the programme at all times during their stay.

What does your Service/Home offer?

We offer an intensive rehabilitation programme which includes a series of workshop style activities such as Computers, Physical Activity, Group and Individual Cooking Skills, Art, Eco-Therapy, Gardening and Community Engagement. We also offer support with Social and Living Skills and Sleep Hygiene.

We work in close partnership with our colleagues from local community mental health teams, GPs, Housing providers and other voluntary organisations.
