Floating Support

Funded through Supporting People, we can provide short-term community support to service users who have completed their rehabilitation.

The support is designed to build-upon the skills learnt in the rehabilitation programme, through home visits and our weekly support group. For service users who have been homeless, issues of resettlement can be addressed through the scheme.

In-Touch is the weekly support group for service users living in the community. The focus of the group is service user led with an emphasis on self-help.

Referrals

For access to the rehabilitation service a comprehensive client assessment is completed prior to admission.

Here are some guidelines for admission to the rehabilitation service at St Mark's House:

Free from alcohol and illicit drugs

Alcohol is the primary substance used

Motivated to address use of alcohol through lifestyle changes

Motivated and willing to participate in the rehabilitation programme

Community rehabilitation is assessed as not an option

When appropriate, staff will offer information and/or signpost other services as an alternative to admission.

It important to note that the majority of referrals and admissions to the service are from within the Leeds Local Authority area. Service users from other local authority areas would need to have funding arrangements agreed from within their own local authority area before admission could be arranged.

Currently, referral to the Floating Alcohol Support scheme is through the Rehabilitation Service.
