In South Leeds, St Anne's is working in partnership with South Leeds Primary Care Trust (PCT) as part of a Community Drug Treatment Service (CDTS)

(Click here to view the South Leeds Drug Service leaflet).

The PCT provides structured interventions and access to a GP and prescribing for problematic drug mis-use. St Anne's South Leeds Drugs Project Team provides advice and information to drug users and the community, as well as providing more intensive and structured support to individuals using drugs, working towards treatment or receiving treatment from the PCT or other prescribers. This could be support or advocating for people so that they can access appropriate housing, access to mental health services, signposting to specialist agencies and other aspects of a wrap around service.

In 2005 we received funding from Comic Relief for a 3 year post in a joint bid with Hamara, a local Healthy Living Centre that works with primarily the local South Asian Community. This worker will raise awareness of the services available at the CDTS throughout the community and provide a referral point for people. One of the aims of the worker is to enhance the accessibility of our service to Asian communities locally.
