Opportunities
for Staff
The St. Anne's training team offers learning and development opportunities to
both St. Anne's staff and to members of the St. Anne's Training Partnership. We
offer a comprehensive range of mandatory and optional courses relevant to the
Care Sector, in addition to Management and Personal Development courses. The
department offers NVQ at Level 2, 3 and 4, and the TDLB Award.
The
St. Anne's Learning and Development Team's expertise covers both Learning
Disabilities and Mental Health. We also have experienced Health and Safety
trainers and NVQ Assessors and Internal Verifiers.
David
Walker is the Learning and Development Manager responsible for the
day to day running of the team and is NVQ Centre Manager.
Susan
Nota (Partnership Development Officer) is responsible for engaging
with external organisations who may be interested in accessing our services.
Sam
Merritt is the Training Administrator, and is responsible for general enquiries
on training courses and bookings
All
new staff undergo an 8 day Induction Programme which ensures they have the
necessary knowledge to be effective workers. Staff in Learning Disabilities
services undergo the Learning Disabilities Award Framework (LDAF) and all other
staff work through the TOPSS standards. This year, we are piloting the Mental
Health Certificate at Level 2. We also have an extensive training programme
which staff can access.
St.
Anne's is fully committed to staff development, at all levels. In addition to
the in-house courses, we provide support to staff undertaking external
qualifications relevant to their job and career, we organise shadowing and job
swaps and are building a library of resources which staff can access.
