OPEN ENTERPRISE
INNOVATE-INSPIRE-IGNITE... THE POTENTIAL OF YOUR WORKFORCE
Introducing you to "Track in a day" The Creative Workshops run by Open
Enterprise@ st-annes
Providing appropriate training and development to your workforce is very
important to all organisations as staff are your most valuable resource. For
organisations like yourselves, who take their corporate responsibility role
seriously and who want to engage with local communities, this workshop provides
the opportunity to fulfil both needs.
The workshops take place Open Learning, St Annes Community Services . The
Centre provides educational services to people who may be vulnerably housed.
Open Enterprise is a new venture set up as a social enterprise to offer
creative workshops entitled "Track in a day" to organisations.
"Track in a day" will be an innovating and inspiring experience to
ignite the senses. Individuals working as part of a team will have the
opportunity to produce a piece of music on CD, and the associated artwork using
photography. They will use audio, visual equipment and software to create an
original soundscape and artwork for the CD cover.
Expert Tutors will provide the training, supported by Assistant trainers who
have learnt skills within St Annes Community Services Open Learning. These
Assistant trainers may have experienced homelessness/ drug and alcohol
problems, mental health difficulties or may be refugee/asylum seekers.
Contributing to the workshops enables them to undertake paid work and to
develop their skills further to move on to other employment. We can also train
new assistant trainers to fill these vacancies as they arise. Consequently by
running these workshops, people who have experienced exclusion/disadvantage are
assisted to develop their full potential.
Participants of the workshop will come away from the day with a CD that they
have contributed to, an achievement in itself- but much more than this-
they
- will have had a reinvigorating day away from the workplace, important to their
health and well being
- will have had the opportunity to use creative skills and thinking they may
never have utilised before,
- will have challenged themselves to move out of their comfort zone, to develop
an understanding of themselves
- to have learnt a new skill and have renewed confidence
- to have worked as part a team
- have a better understanding of the experiences and potential of people who
are often excluded from society, develop their awareness and social
understanding.
This is a very exiting development and one that your staff will truly benefit
from and will find very rewarding in a variety of ways.
To make sure that you and your staff benefit from the Open Enterprise Creative
Workshops, we guarantee to keep in touch, so that the above benefits become
really tangible within your organisation.
