Induction Training

St Anne’s has established effective induction arrangements which include :

• All newly appointed staff attending a 5 day basic training course in the first 6 weeks of their employment. This meets the requirements of the Skills for Care Common Induction Standards.


In-Service Training

On a continuing basis St Anne’s has a learning and development plan which ensures that we meet our key aims and objectives to maintain and improve the quality of services. This means that we aim to support staff to obtain a high level of skill and relevant qualifications to meet service needs.

Our learning and development team produces a comprehensive training programme each year.

In practical terms, St Anne's has a wide range of formal and informal training arrangements in place. This includes :

• Supporting managers in the achievement NVQ level 4 or a Certificate (HE) in management.
• Incorporating NVQ into normal working practices and having a structured approach to NVQ delivery.
• Providing comprehensive training programme making use of internal and external expertise
• Maintaining staff development, competency and supervision arrangements which support managers and staff in developing their performance.
• Having a competent training team which is able to support management development, NVQ, health and safety and a wide range of training initiatives.
• Offering financial support to staff undertaking externally delivered courses where this is demonstrated to be beneficial to the service they are providing.
•Development of on-line learning programmes.
