For those clients who wish for more independence but with the security of regular visits from trained staff, then St. Anne's Supported Housing Service offers just that. With facilities ranging from shared accommodation to single person flats there are over 150 places available in Leeds, Huddersfield, Dewsbury and Sheffield. The majority of the clients are people with mental health problems but we also accommodate people with learning disabilities, substance use issues and people who have been homeless, in a service of which we are rightly proud.
Most people live in self-contained accommodation, although some housing is shared, with tenants sharing kitchens and bathrooms, but everyone has their own bedroom. All the tenants enjoy the independence that having their own front door gives them with the knowledge that should a crisis occur there is always someone to call on.
Our staff help tenants with the whole range of housing related support required to successfully sustain a tenancy as well as with access to community facilities, day care and specialist services provided by other agencies. Support is individually geared to the needs and wishes of the tenants. For some it is a routine visit once a week, for others, much higher levels of support involving shopping, cooking or the maintenance of a non-drinking programme.
Referrers or applicants to these services need to complete an Application Form and a Third Party Risk assessment. Those specifically applying to services in Leeds should indicate the properties they would like to be considered for by completing the Property List form.
