Support Worker

Hi, my name is Jane and I am a support worker

What do I do?Jane Moss - Support Worker

I have worked for St Anne’s for 8 years.

I am a Support Worker supporting 8 Clients with Mental Health Problems to live independently. I do so by supporting them to manage their finances, prompting with their medication and other day to day things which they need support to do.

I love my job because….

I am helping clients to fulfil their potential and supporting them to live as independently as they can. That is what makes my job worthwhile that I am helping someone. We have a great staff team and we all support each other.

I enjoy working for St Anne’s because I get all the training and support that I need to be able to carry out my job role adequately. I like that staff are given the opportunity to shadow otherservices because it enables them to gain more experience so I would like to say thank you to St Anne’s for giving staff the opportunity to take part in this.

Since I started working with St Anne’s I have achieved quite a lot. I completed my LDAF when I worked in Learning Disabilities. Since transferring to Mental Health, I have achieved the most. I have completed and passed my NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and passed my Mental Health Certificate Level 2. When I first came to work in Mental Health I had a lack of confidence but my Manager helped me to overcome this by giving me the opportunity to mentor new staff and students which really helped to boost my confidence.

What can I look forward to?

I am quite keen on applying for the Management Development Programme to help me pursue my goal of being a manager and develop new skills and boost my confidence a lot more.
