St. Anne’s in-house Learning and Development team provides professional development opportunities to staff of St. Anne’s and were Runners up in the 2013 Skills for Care Accolades (Best Training Provider).
Training is offered through a comprehensive range of mandatory and optional courses relevant to the care sector, in addition to management and personal development programmes. Access to a range of accredited QCF qualifications is also available.
All new staff undertake a formal induction programme which ensures they have the necessary knowledge to be effective workers and to meet the requirements of the Skills for Care Common Induction standards.
In addition to in-house courses, increasing use is made of online and distance learning approaches. Support is provided to staff to undertake external qualifications relevant to their role and career and to have opportunities for shadowing, coaching, job swaps and transfers.
All staff have regular Professional Development and Review meetings including an annual appraisal with their manager. This enables individual development needs for the future to be identified according to the requirements of their roles, service and personal career aspirations.
