These guidelines cover some basic requirements that apply on the sites where you will be working and have been prepared for your benefit.
By following these guidelines you will be ensuring that risks to yourselves, clients and others are minimised. Nothing in these guidelines absolves contractors from their duty to comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, all other statutory regulations, St. Anne’s Community Services policies and all current applicable legislation and guidance notes. Where appropriate the Contractor shall provide copies of method statements/risk assessments related to the works to be carried out. Safe systems of work, as agreed with the Housing and Estates Department shall be employed at all times. An induction by the Service manager organising the work will be provided where appropriate. All contractors’ personnel shall be suitably qualified and competent to carry out their work/duties in a safe manner at all times.
A permit to work may be required for the following tasks:
Work at heights/Work in roof spaces/lofts and ducts (including asbestos risk)/Excavation/trench works/Work on electrical systems/Hot works/Work on piped medical gas systems.
