We are delighted that the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated St. Anne’s Community Services’ care home, Kings Mill Court, as Outstanding in their latest report.
The CQC praised our Kirklees service for our high-quality care, fantastic leadership and incredible dedication to go above and beyond for our residents. The report stated personalised care is demonstrated throughout the home and highlighted the care team’s commitment to empowering people.
Kings Mill Court is formed of 12 self-contained flat and provides care for people who live with complex physical needs arising from learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Our service was praised for its high-quality care for some of the most vulnerable people in the West Yorkshire area.
The CQC noted that staff are highly skilled and knowledgeable about each person they care for and are committed to making a positive difference, every day, to every person. Residents were quoted as saying, “Staff help me to calm down,” and “I like to be on my own sometimes, but other times I spend time with my friend,’ and “I like my flat. I recently decorated with blue wallpaper with birds in it.”

The regulator recognised Kings Mill Court for putting individuals at the heart of everything they do and noted that through tailored care planning, each person is empowered to live as fuller life as possible.
A staff member quoted in the report said: “I love it here. You come in and remove the barriers that limit people from doing things they have always dreamed of.” Another colleague, said: “The best thing about the service is the 12 individual personalities.”
The CQC states in their report: “Kings Mill Court are exceptional at placing people at the heart of the service. The managers and staff have a strong focus on people having as many opportunities as possible to develop their confidence, gain new skills and become as independent as they could.”
Mohammed Naveed, who was the home’s registered manager at the time of inspection, said: “I am delighted that the CQC has rated our home Outstanding – it is a recognition that truly reflects the hard work of the Kings Mill team and the happiness of all of our residents.
“We set very high standards in our home and it is fantastic to be recognised for those areas – including the praise around governance, recruitment and training and providing the very best person-centred. I am very proud of the entire team, happy for our residents and pleased for their relatives that our home has been rated what we truly know our home deserves.”

“The service has only been in operation for six years, and in that time the home has gone from strength to strength and to be recognised by the CQC is a fantastic testament to the hard work, high standards of care and dedication of the entire team.
“I am incredibly proud of every member of the Kings Mill Court team. The report noted ‘an extremely person-centred, warm and inclusive atmosphere within the service’ and I see those values in every member of the team and in every person, who calls Kings Mill Court home.
“At St. Anne’s we set very high standards for all of our homes and 95.8% of our homes are rated Good or above. We’re enormously proud of all our homes, and our impressive CQC record testifies to the quality we achieve.”
