St. Anne’s Community Services is committed to the provision of excellent services for the people we support. This is achieved through a workforce that is well trained, appropriately qualified, supported and continually developed. A commitment that is underpinned by our Core Values and supports our Strategic Aims.

The Learning and Development team strive to lead and champion learning and development throughout St Anne’s as well as planning, facilitating, evaluating and reviewing training across the organisation.
Learning and Development opportunities are provided to ensure that all statutory, regulatory and organisational training requirements are met, but also to meet the individual needs and aspirations of staff wherever possible.
The organisation places great importance on developing individuals from within and learning and development opportunities are structured to align with St Anne’s Performance Management Framework, to ensure that talented employees that are eager to develop and progress can be supported to do so.
St. Anne’s is committed to ensuring that learning and development opportunities are accessible to all employees in an inclusive environment that enables everybody to succeed.
In accordance with our Equality and Inclusion Strategy, St Anne’s will explore and implement projects and initiatives that give extra support to staff groups that are underrepresented in positions of leadership (for example, people with disabilities, Black and Minority Ethnic or Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender employees). Equality monitoring data will be used to measure the success of these initiatives through the Workforce Development Group and the Diversity Action Group.
Staff with additional learning needs will be supported by their Line Manager and the Learning and Development Team with additional advice being offered by the Human Resources Department and the Equality and Diversity Officer. We will endeavour to remove barriers to learning as far as is practically possible by making reasonable adjustments that are planned with the input of the staff member in advance.
St Anne’s will choose venues that are welcoming, accessible and appropriate for our classroom-based learning and the needs of those completing training.
St Anne’s Learning and Development Department will aim to support managers to deliver training in the most suitable formats for staff teams and services. If multiple staff in a service all require the same face to face training then bespoke sessions may be agreed with that service. In addition to this the Learning and Development team will look to support staff to use skills and knowledge they have learned through training and qualifications to share this knowledge with colleagues e.g. Nurses co-delivering training within services.
