A huge thank you everyone who attended the Jubilee party to celebrate twenty-five years of Calderdale St Anne’s services on Friday 6th July at the Shay Stadium Halifax.
Over 120 guests attended, including the people who we support in our services in Calderdale, some of whom were amongst those who lived at Stansfield View hospital until 1993, staff past and present, family and friends, and others who help enhance what we do. It was a fabulous evening and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
A special thank you to Karen Parrish who provide the funds to make it all possible, to Laura Thomas who acted as official photographer for the night, and Jeremy Scott who filmed the proceedings, to Helen Barrett and Sue Newcomb who helped with some of the posters and other material displayed at the event, Nigel Brown and Wendy Goswell who made the fantastic cakes, and Natasha Harper who provided the entertainment. But most of all to everyone we support who make what we do worthwhile and inspire us to do our best. We’ve come a long way since 1993, and the people we support now enjoy greater opportunities and more valued lives than we previously thought possible, in the coming years we will hopefully continue to achieve even more and see greater equality and inclusion for adults with learning disabilities
Can services please share this email with your staff teams and the people you support. There was a comments book available on the night, which we’ll forward to those who haven’t yet had an opportunity to ad their thoughts, please send comments by email if you prefer. There will also be photos uploaded onto the Calderdale St Anne’s Dignity Group SharePoint, and individual prints for people who attended to keep as a souvenir of the night.
On behalf of Gerard Wainwright, Julie Gibson and the St Anne’s Calderdale Dignity Group.
