Emma joins us from the high risk safety sector as an experienced and qualified professional.
She has a diverse background across the health & safety, construction, facilities and environmental management sectors that spans over twenty years (and can’t quite believe it has been so long!).
She has worked in both the Private and Public sectors during this time and has been involved in both the Educational and Private Training Industries working with a wide range of clients and global organisations of various shapes and sizes.
Emma’s role as Health and Safety Manager at St. Anne’s will be to support the organisation as it continues to develop and expand it’s services. She will be involved in ensuring that the organisation meets its statutory regulatory responsibilities and will be looking to help bring best practice into all aspects of health and safety, collectively throughout St Anne’s.
Emma will be based at Head Office in Leeds, but will be mainly out and about visiting services; undertaking a supportive role for St Anne’s employees to help them make the services St Anne’s provide both safer and more effective for themselves and St. Anne’s clients. Her role will compliment the existing Quality & Safety Leads roles and the Repairs and Compliance Team remit, so that St Anne’s can further demonstrate a wholly holistic approach as to how it manages and monitors its health and safety responsibilities, on a day to day basis.
Over the years Emma has worked in and supported organisations at all levels; sitting on two Boards of Directors in both Non-Executive and Trustee roles and supporting and mentoring many individuals, outside of her working roles, both in the UK and Internationally, to develop themselves and their knowledge. Outside of work Emma has an active family life. When time allows she loves to travel, to read and to go walking. On the rare days when she feels particularly active, she spends time doing martial arts and practicing archery.
Emma has always been passionate in the roles she has undertaken and her wish to move into the Charity Sector and to work with people who are caring and equally passionate, has been fulfilled by her recent appointment at St Anne’s. She is very much looking forward to meeting and working with everyone within the organisation and hopes she will be part of the St Anne’s family for many years to come.
