Joint Winners 2016

Unfortunately Debbie and Martin could not attend the event so Helen Simpson, Director of Finance presented Tara Johnson (left) who received the award on behalf of Debbie Fletcher and Steph Harper (right) who received the award on behalf of Martin Terry
Martin has won this award because he works with a client who was being psychologically abused, causing the client to be very hostile to staff and he seemed to have targeted Martin more than anyone with this. However, Martin never gave up with this client and he was the one who gathered evidence that the abuse that was happening, and this led to action being taken. Since Martin took action, the client has broken contact with the people who were causing the abuse and is now engaging well with staff.
Debbie’s nomination was put forward by her manager Tara Johnson. Debbie started an activity group for adults with learning disabilities along with 2 colleagues in her support worker role. When Debbie became a senior support worker she has continued to run the group voluntarily on her own every Monday. The planning of the activity group is all in Debbie’s own time as well as running the group. Debbie provides the highest quality service, always making sure everyone is catered for and having fun. Clients appear more confident and comfortable around the group as the months have gone on and this continues to grow.
Well done to both Debbie and Martin.
