Pride events are for everybody, not just LGBT people and play a role in promoting equality and respect across all diverse communities.
Please have a look at the schedules of all local LGBT Pride events in Yorkshire and the North East from June-August 2019. This is to promote a series of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride festivals which take place across the country every summer. Some of you have already been in touch to ask how St Anne’s can contribute to Pride events – or you may be supporting clients who want to attend. The LGBT+ Action Group is really enthusiastic for us to have a presence at Pride this year and I want to support services to make the most of the opportunity by planning ahead.

In recent years, Pride events have also become important for public services and voluntary sector organisations to demonstrate that they are inclusive organisations.
Your service should consider taking part in a parade or holding an information stand at a local Pride event. Activities can be co-ordinated for staff and clients to get involved.
St Anne’s will have an information stall at the Leeds City Council’s “Market Place” event on Saturday 3rd August (same as last year).
PLUA we will have a ‘walking float’ again in the Leeds parade on Sunday 4th August with space for 25 people.
