Hi I’m Keith

I am a support worker for St Anne’s. I have had a diverse employment background, which includes time in HM forces.

I have always had strong egalitarian values and I am passionate in challenging inequality and injustice.

I have worked in social care since 2004, and I joined St Anne’s as a support worker in 2007 and have recently achieved 15 years’ service with St Anne’s (at time of writing). Over those years I have developed strong working relationships with colleagues and the people we support and have a passionate commitment in working to achieve our shared ethos, that the people we support are empowered to live their best life and have a life without limits.

In my time working with St Anne’s, I have been offered opportunities for career progression, but have preferred to remain in my current role.

As a support worker, the personal satisfaction gained from being directly involved in positive outcomes and the shared experience of happiness with the people I support is immeasurable.

We have over 950 support workers like Keith, who deliver outstanding care to our clients, and we are so PROUD of each of them and their dedication.

“Hi – I am Denise,

“I have worked in the care sector for 31 years and have been with St Anne’s since 1997.

“Originally, I started as a Residential Care Officer and when the opportunity arose, applied for the 3-year development post as the Deputy Home Manager. In February 2009 I became acting Home Manager, which became permanent in September 2009. In September 2021 I became the Manager of two outstanding services and manage a wonderful team of 20 staff who in turn support 10 clients.

“As a company, St Anne’s has encouraged me to progress with my career and offered me all the training needed to fulfil my role to the best of my ability.  As a Manager and Carer, I try and have a positive attitude and come to work with a smile on my face and a can-do attitude which I like to think I emulate to the staff team and the clients”.

We are very PROUD of Denise and all our 54 talented Front-Line Managers.

We have 10 Area Managers, who co-ordinate St Anne’s services across the North of England, they manage 54 front line managers in services.

“Hi – I am Abby, Bids and Contracts Manager for St Anne’s in the Business Development Team.

“I have worked in the care sector for six years and have been with St Anne’s since 2020.

“I studied professional writing at university and began a job as a graduate bid writer whilst living in London in 2016, so writing has always been my passion. Upon moving back to Grimsby in late 2016, I began bid writing for Health and Social Care organisations, predominantly for Assistive Technology and people with Learning Disabilities. It wasn’t until I joined St Anne’s in 2020 that I really began to expand my knowledge on the wide variety of needs that the care sector supports people with every day.

“As a company, St Anne’s has encouraged me to develop my role and provided me with opportunities to manage bids and projects more freely and enthusiastically. Whatever training I need to advance my knowledge or develop me professionally has been offered, whether that is internal and supported by my colleagues, or external for me to gain specific qualifications. The management and support from my team has been the best I’ve ever had; our team works tirelessly to capture opportunities for our organisation, manage and process contracts effectively, develop our existing services and successfully mobilise new ones, support client engagement and not to mention the complete redevelopment of our marketing and communications platforms and propositions. I’m supported both professionally and personally and everyone steps up when collaborative work is needed”.

The L&D and PBS Team support St Anne’s to ensure our colleagues receive the best training possible to support our clients

The HR team is made up of a Head of People Partnering, 2 HR Business Partners, 2 Advisors and a HR Assistant. As a team, they work collaboratively to provide HR support throughout the organisation.

Our Recruitment Team is made up of a Head of Recruitment and Employee Value Proposition and 1 Recruitment Advisor, 1 Recruitment Team Leader and 3 Recruitment Assistants.

Hi I am Stephen, as Head of IT at St. Anne’s Community Services, I’m committed to using technology to empower our teams and improve the lives of those we serve. My 19 years of experience in the sector enable me to collaborate closely with service departments, understanding their needs and delivering IT solutions that drive efficiency and compassionate care.  I’m inspired by St. Anne’s commitment to their PROUD values, which resonate deeply with my own professional approach.

We have a dedicated IT team, consisting of 7 members, that support the delivery of services across all our sites as well as maintaining systems and security. Our IT Team won Central Services Team of the year in 2021.

Hi, I’m Sally, Corporate Support Services Manager.

I started working for St Anne’s in 2018 and have been part of the Corporate Governance Team for the last two years. My role involves working closely with the CEO, SMT, Head of Corporate Governance and the Trustees, on issues of corporate support, governance and compliance.

I started my career in the NHS as a Medical Secretary. After 30 years of service a new challenge presented itself – working as an Administration Manager specifically in the mental health sector. This led to studying Mental Health Law and Practice at Northumbria University in addition to Business and Administration at Level 3.

Over the last two years I have been actively encouraged to develop and progress within my role and recently started a Foundation Course in Corporate Governance (through ICSA) and have become a member of the Corporate Governance Institute.

My Corporate Governance colleagues are a dedicated team and lovely people to work with. Comprising Corporate Governance, Information Governance, Health and Safety and Corporate Support Administrators, we live out the PROUD values, which are displayed on the wall opposite the new workspace at Fountain Court. We are happy to offer support and help with your enquiries.

St. Anne’s have three key members of the team undertaking specific areas of responsibility in protecting personal information. These are our ‘Caldicott Guardian’, our Senior Information Risk Officer, and our Data Protection Officer.

Our Quality and Continuous Improvement Leads, support managers to improve their services and ensure that they are meeting the requirements of their regulators. To support services  they spend a lot of time in services talking to clients, managers and staff and thinking of ways to help them be their best.

We are Proud of  our Quality Team, who support our services ensuring we continue to deliver the highest possible care and support.

Hi, my name is Jo, and I joined the Shared Lives team 4 years ago.

I love the work we do in the team; it is so rewarding both for us and the carers and clients we support. We are a small team of qualified social workers and a qualified Learning Disability nurse who support 82 Shared Lives arrangements across Leeds and outlying areas.

My personal background started in Learning Disability Day Services as a care assistant. I then spent 7 years with the Youth Offending team in Leeds, combining working part time in an Older Persons team in Seacroft. I was then seconded by Leeds to undertake my social work training.

Over the years I have worked in various teams in Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Calderdale and Kirklees as an agency social worker. This was in Older Persons teams and Learning Disability Care Management.

Shared Lives offers such great opportunities for our clients, and it is a joy to watch people flourish in the homes of our amazing carers!

We have a carer whose mum lives in Italy, so the young man she has living in her family has had the opportunity to visit there and proudly told me he had learnt to swim in the sea.

Another gentleman was placed with a couple who have family in America and was fortunate to experience a road trip visiting all the famous states. He had photographs to show where he had been with an I LOVE …  t-shirt for every place!

We also celebrate smaller achievements, such as accessing the community independently, making friendships, and learning new skills. Through regular reviews we can identify good outcomes for our clients.

It really is a privilege to work alongside our carers who all do a fantastic job – particularly during the pandemic when they were at home 24/7 with their clients, some of whom can be challenging.

Shared Lives really does embody the values of St Anne’s and I feel very lucky to be working in this team!

Ensuring we delivery quality homes which meet the needs of the people we support, our housing team supports tenancies and property maintenance

We have a dedicated finance team to support our services, staff and clients

The people we support are the experts in their own care and we actively involve them in the decisions that we make as an organisation. Our service user involvement forum is known as “SEVEN”, St Anne’s Expert Voices and Experience Network and is made up of people who use our services in all areas. The Experts by Experience are paid for their time helping us to ensure client’s voices are heard. The SEVEN group help us to recruit staff, check and challenge policies and deliver training.
